Would you like to commission a portrait? Here is what you need to know about what I can create for you, how much it costs, and how the process works.

Subject
For the subject, you can choose between a Classic or Fantasy Portrait.
I always work from a photo.
For a classic portrait, I will translate photo one-to-one into a painting or drawing.
A fantasy portrait is anything with a modification, e.g., adding color to a black-and-white photo, adding a different background, or altering clothing.

Technique
I offer four different techniques, two drawing techniques and two painting techniques.

Size
Just like with the techniques, I offer a number of sizes.
These sizes are based on standard frame dimensions.

How much is this going to cost?
The exact price of a commission naturally depends on your wishes. The complexity of your subject, the material, and the size all influence the price. Here you can calculate a base price based on your choices.

How does it work?

The first contact
After you, as a client, have sent me an initial message via, for example, my contact form, I will send you an email. In this email, I will propose a first meeting. This can take place in various ways, such as a phone or video call. Along with this proposal, you will also receive more information regarding the specifications of the reference photos I would need to create the best portrait for you.

A conversation
During this first meeting, we will discuss the assignment together. What exactly is it you would like, and how can I realize this? I will then provide an exact price for your commision. I will let you know when you can expect the work to be finished and ready to be shipped or picked up.

Making the artwork
After our conversation, I will start creating your commision. If you have ordered a fantasy portrait, I will send you a sketch by email. You can provide feedback on this drawing. I will send the skech with the adjustments made, back to you for approval. If you would like further adjustments, this is possible but it will cost a little bit extra. Once you have approved the skech, I can begin finishing the commision in the technique you have chosen. When the artwork is finished I will let you know and you can come pick up the work or all send it to you.
